Online Bingo Growing at Incredible Pace
According to the latest statistics, it is estimated that online bingo will make up a quarter of the global betting market by 2012.
Everywhere around the world, online bingo is spreading at a mind-boggling pace. The United Kingdom has the most developed online bingo system in the world with statistics showing that the market grew from a mere 17 sites in 2004 to an incredible 243 as of this month.
And in nearby Spain, there are now forty bingo sites whereas last year there were just six.
Of course, with so many new sites, the amount of money that this industry generates also increases dramatically. An online bingo tracking service estimated that the UK online bingo industry alone earned $240 million last year, from the 500,000 players that access bingo sites in the country each month to play bingo games.
Bingo experts predict that the next five to eight years will see enormous growth in the world online bingo markets.
“We have several clients planning launches in Spain in the next three months and also new sites in Denmark, Sweden and Ireland,” said Al Haig-Thomas, the Chief Executive of Virtue Fusion, a company that supplies software to bingo brands. “All are undeveloped markets that have a history and culture of bingo halls, so you would expect them to follow the U.K. market in terms of growth.”
As internet technology improves and more people decide to switch to online bingo gambling because of a number of reasons such as no-smoking policies and convenience, analysts are saying that this form of entertainment will become even more popular. So much so that many predict that by 2012, online bingo will make up 25% of the entire online betting industry!
