Bingo Night Live
ITV 1 airs the brand new Bingo show called Bingo Night Live. It first aired in the UK on June 4th, 2008. Bingo Night Live is a free play bingo show where contestants play off against one another with printed bingo cards from home.
The original hosts of Bingo Night Live on ITV1 are Melinda Messenger and GMTV’s Michael Underwood. Melinda Messenger is also the host of BBC’s Buy Or Not To Buy and starred in a film called Virtual Sexuality. Michael Underwood is the guy who won “Whatever You Want” and a six week CBBC presentation contract. He also competed in Dancing On Ice with Melanie Lambert. They seem like a good fit for Bingo Night Live. Michael calls the numbers in the main game and Melinda does the numbers for the Magic Number draws.
Bingo Night Live is an hour long and mixes free bingo with real money bingo. They have a Golden Jackpot that had £25,000 in it the first episode. Aside from the main bingo games there are shorter games in between the main ones as well. Bingo Night Live airs every Tuesday to Sunday after midnight in the UK.
To play along on Bingo Night Live you can register and get your free bingo cards at the official Bingo Night Live site: www.itv.com/bingonightlive . Bingo is a long time hobby for many people in the UK and around the world. Bingo Night Live is unique in that it allows such interactivity for a television show. There had been concern from local bingo hall owners that this may affect their business but many think it could get people playing bingo and out to the halls who had never been interested in Bingo at all before.
Bingo Night Live is poised to be a big success. Bingo is rising in popularity in the UK and elsewhere, and with massive interactive games like Bingo Night Live on ITV1 the reach is going to get bigger.
Bingo Night Live has been very entertaining so far. The two hosts Michael and Melinda certainly have an on screen chemistry as they banter back and forth with saucy comments and flirts. Recently, however, Bingo Night has brought on two new hosts for Bingo Night Live weeknights. Anthony Crank calls out the numbers in the big game while Jayne Sharp is the moderator and speaks to the “Minute To Win” Callers. Nichola Dixon is the “stats guru” for Bingo Night Live, where she goes through interesting stats about who is playing bingo alont with Bingo Night Live.
